The MTAC™ Kydex® Spare Bodies are a rigid material that are fit to each firearm and maintains their shape even with the pistol un-holstered. The smooth low-friction surface allows for a fast draw and easy one-handed reholstering of the firearm. The Kydex® body will not bend or stretch over time and is impervious to sweat and solvents.
The “Slide” Holster
The slide holster option allows the user to use one holster for similar guns of different lengths (such as Glock 9mm, .40, and .357). The slide is typically slightly longer than the shortest gun of the series, and left open so that longer guns may ‘slide’ through the end of the holster.
Slide versions of outside the waistband holsters are recommended for range work only. While carrying a longer firearm in a slide holster, the end is left exposed and the user must be careful not to bump the exposed muzzle up against anything that might dislodge the firearm, i.e. sitting down in an arm chair.
