Comp-Tac® offers additional Kydex® Spare Bodies for most of our leather Kydex® hybrid holsters that may be interchanged to make one holster adaptable for multiple firearms.
The Sport-TAC™/ Spartan™ Kydex® Spare bodies are a rigid material that are fit to each firearm and maintains their shape even with the pistol un-holstered. The smooth low friction surface allows for a fast draw and easy one-handed re-holstering of the firearm. The Kydex® body will not bend or stretch over time and is impervious to sweat and solvents.
By purchasing a Spare Body, you can turn your currently holster into a new holster to fit a new firerm at a fraction of the price. Simply remove the screws attaching your current Kydex® body to you holster, and swap in the new body to instantly have a new holster for your brand new gun.
The “Slide” Holster
The slide holster option allows the user to use one holster for similar guns of different lengths (such as Glock 9mm, .40, and .357). The slide is typically slightly longer than the shortest gun of the series, and left open so that longer guns may ‘slide’ through the end of the holster.
Slide versions of outside the waistband holsters are recommended for range work only. While carrying a longer firearm in a slide holster, the end is left exposed and the user must be careful not to bump the exposed muzzle up against anything that might dislodge the firearm, i.e. sitting down in an arm chair.
Not all Models will have the de-bossing (make and model) listed on the outside of the holster. We are working to update all of our models to have this, it is an ongoing process.
**Important Note:**
The Sport-TAC uses the Spartan body, but not all Spartan fits are compatible with the the Sport-TAC Backing. This listing is the approved fits for the Sport-Tac Holster. Spartan bodies for guns shorter than 4" fit, but the above have been chosen specifically as working fits, including some redesigns to make 100% compatibility.
The Kydex® Spare Bodies are the Kydex® portion only. It is recommended to purchase the spare hardware at time of purchase.
